Robbers and Strippers and Renters! Oh My!

There is no love lost between me and the extended stay hotel.  It truely is from the bowels of Hell.  Not only was it hot as Hades on the inside, it smelled.  I guess a lot of cooped up people in sweltering hotel tends to lead to odors.  However, I was not expecting the attempted robbery of the main desk.  Nor for the guy to get away, while in hand cuffs, cause the cop "had seven knee surgeries and didn't want to risk injury by chasing him."

Then there was the scenery.  I was expecting snow and wildlife, not Strippers and a place called Showboats.  Yes, that's right, it was right next to a strip club.  But the final straw, the one that broke the camels back, happened yesterday.  They shut off the water!  No notice of any kind and no apologies.   Just turned it off at 9am then said "We don't know when it will be back on.  Maybe six hours, maybe longer."  And then, with all the smelly, grumpy waterless people stuck in a hot hotel, they decided to set off the fire alarm.  Everyone had to vacate and stand out in -27 degrees.  Nope, no more! Can't do it any longer.

We moved to a new hotel, one we wished we had known about sooner.  It's called Pike's Waterfront Lodge (http://www.pikeslodge.com/index.html) and it is beautiful.  We have two rooms, free breakfast and free ice cream in the evenings. They have Aveda toiletries, flat screen tvs and free wifi in all the rooms.  The website does not do it justice.  The lobby is amazing and the rooms are beautiful on the inside.  We are so much happier here!  And we get to control our own heat!!!!!!

We are going to look at a possible rental house tomorrow.  The current renter is being evicted.  I feel bad for her, but hey, I need a place to live! Fingers crossed it is as nice as the pictures the agent sent us. I also finally got the girls enrolled in school.  YAY!!!!!  Nanners starts tomorrow and Chey starts on Monday.
